Was it the sweet song she was singin or the way it all happened without even thinkin

Tuesday Shmoozeday!

Still rocking this great mood. I really think this new office move with a pretty view (or having natural sunlight at all) has really done wonders. I guess we shall see if this remains! I sure hope so!

I've mentioned this before, but music really speaks to me. I take myself to moments in time where the lyrics apply, I feel something when certain chords are played and it can totally take me from a bad mood to a good mood instantaneously. I love that totally takes over and washes all over me. Pretty awesome experience.
PS- Runnin Out of Moonlight Pandora Station is what I'm currently jammin to this week.

Some lyrics I'm really loving right now are:

"Her hair's still wet from her path, she's sittin on the front porch with a glass of iced tea in my sweat shirt and her bare feet, this I gotta see.
If I hurry I can catch the colors of her skin from that sunset and her face and that love waitin on me, this I gotta see"
This I Gotta See, Jason Aldean

Happy Monday!

Happy Monday Y'all!!
I'm in such a great mood today, despite some bumps in the road this morning!
Also, this cold front that moved in a couple days ago could be really felt this morning- I'm SO excited for fall to approach.

Really should recap from the past couple of days.

Thursday was awesome, went to a local chamber event at a brand new place in College Town, Madison Social with some friends. It's not officially open to the public yet, so it was pretty neat to get a sneak peek. The inside is beautiful, and the roll up glass doors that surround the building let a really beautiful Florida State sunset in. I've never been one to "network" at events, but these are actually really fun. It's amazing the people you meet and the small world that is Tallahassee. It's such a sweet thing to see so many "keep it in the family" type businesses that I grew up with. Meeting these kinds of people are really two-fold; I should network for the sake that I am now in the business world and it really is all about "who you know" (hence how I landed my job now), but also to really engage the community of Tallahassee that I'm planting permanent roots in now. Sometimes it's still weird to think that Tallahassee is now my forever home even though I've lived here for four years already. I'm absolutely loving that I'm exploring this "whole new world" of Tallahassee I've never delved into aka meeting people outside the college bubble. All about growing up I suppose! And hey, the men at these things aint half bad lookin I must say...

Isn't the sunset on the stadium absolutely beautiful?!

Keep your heart wide open

I know I posted once already today, but I couldn't help but to post again.
So many goodies came in the mail today!

I had ordered this swimsuit months ago via LivingSocial from PB Bikini Hut. I suppose the company had issues with receiving payment from LivingSocial after the special was promoted (note to self: won't be ordering anything else through them again!) but it was definitely worth the wait! This was also my first Birchbox so I'm super excited! It had the neatest things in it and its always nice to get the scoop on things I wouldn't normally purchase or even find! Last but certainly not least, my new ring finally came!

Happier than a camel on a Wednesday

Happy Hump Day y’all!
So many exciting things have been happening this week!! J

Monday was my first Capital Young Republicans meeting… Not quite the crowd I’m used to even though I’m conservative to the bone. Morgan (Beaus and Arrows) and I still had a good time, even if I made better friends with the bartender than some of the attendees. Overall though, I did meet a lot of interesting young professionals and was glad I went to network. Krewe De Gras is pretty unique place and I really enjoyed trying it out!

Here’s a photo of Monday's Young Republican's Social

More importantly than that… LILLYS ENDLESS SUMMER SALE BEGAN! I definitely participated this year since I finally have some CA$H to spend on over-priced little girls inspired clothing. I’m such a lover and hater of Lilly, but I’ve definitely been on a kick lately. Morgan and I went to Pink Narcissus on the other side of town to shop during our lunch hour and I came out with two GORGEOUS dresses and an adorable belt! I really should learn to say no… but YOLO right?
Here's a photo of the dresses I purchased during the sale. Both retailed $188 and I got them for $62 each! I can't help but love a good sale! The one on the top I plan to wear with my precious white bow belt I also bought from Pink Narcissus!

Oh Weekend, Where did you go?

This weekend has FLOWN by! I can’t believe its SUNDAY?! I like to look back on what I did throughout the weekend (since I really have started living for Saturday and Sundays now that I work full time) so here it is... Wasn't quite Luke Bryan's Wild Weekend, but certainly was a goodie.

Friday
My best friend had her white coat ceremony! She’s finally done with her first semester of Medical School at Florida State! Working in an anatomy lab with cadavers all day long and most of the weekends this past summer have been really grueling for her. After her ceremony, the Parks family and friends had a DELICIOUS dinner at Masa. We followed dinner by a night out at Midtown for some fun.

Saturday
This might have been the laziest day of my life. With all the overcast weather and rain we've had, I don't think I got out of bed except to take Mayley out.  Lots of rain + Lots of netflix + Lots of cuddling with Mayley= Total bum status. Sometimes days like that are just what the doctor ordered though, it definitely gave me time to catch up on sleep and reflect on the week, not to mention spend a lot of quality time with my girl. However, I did manage to win a really pretty pair of Lilly Pulitzer pants off eBay for only $20! AND a David Yuman ring! woohoo!

We're gonna make this house your hΦΜe

Sunday marked the kick off of Florida State University's 2013 Panhellenic Recruitment. It's absolutely the weirdest feeling that I am not at the house right now; practicing lines, comparing outfits, pretend rushing PNM's (discussing the strangest things to keep ourselves entertained), throwing 4am dance/twerk parties, or breaking down the night before our pref ceremony because my sisters beautiful voices filled the house with my favorite Phillip Phillips song and realizing this will be the last time I will ever experience this (thats an understatement... uncontrollable sappy sobbing on my behalf.. and as I am typing this post, I started crying again listening to a clip featured at the bottom of this post.. took me back to that moment in time... I really need to buck up).

Woah. Talk about a rush of memories and emotions.

As I'm preparing to go to an Alumna brunch this coming sunday, I took the time to reflect on the past four years. Since when am I the person that is getting mock rushed and not doing the mock rushing at this brunch?! I have so much to be thankful and grateful for when it comes to my chapter. They took this little curly haired innocent child in 2009 and turned her into a confident successful loving spitfire of a woman. You can check out this transformation first hand...
From gel and mousse in '09 to long flowy locks in '13.

Welcome to the Farm

Well, here goes for my first post. I'm still in the works of deciding exactly what direction I will be going with this blog, but I think the beauty of this might be that there isn't a specific direction per says.

I want to be very honest throughout my posts. I want to post the little things in life that make me happy, such as my Lilly planner or volcano diffuser in my office or a cute OOTD...  But also the real things that affect me: relationships with friends and family, the roller coaster that is interacting with the male species, or finding a path to spirituality again. I love to observe and reflect, so hopefully this will provide an avenue to do just that.
