Happy Monday!

Happy Monday Y'all!!
I'm in such a great mood today, despite some bumps in the road this morning!
Also, this cold front that moved in a couple days ago could be really felt this morning- I'm SO excited for fall to approach.

Really should recap from the past couple of days.

Thursday was awesome, went to a local chamber event at a brand new place in College Town, Madison Social with some friends. It's not officially open to the public yet, so it was pretty neat to get a sneak peek. The inside is beautiful, and the roll up glass doors that surround the building let a really beautiful Florida State sunset in. I've never been one to "network" at events, but these are actually really fun. It's amazing the people you meet and the small world that is Tallahassee. It's such a sweet thing to see so many "keep it in the family" type businesses that I grew up with. Meeting these kinds of people are really two-fold; I should network for the sake that I am now in the business world and it really is all about "who you know" (hence how I landed my job now), but also to really engage the community of Tallahassee that I'm planting permanent roots in now. Sometimes it's still weird to think that Tallahassee is now my forever home even though I've lived here for four years already. I'm absolutely loving that I'm exploring this "whole new world" of Tallahassee I've never delved into aka meeting people outside the college bubble. All about growing up I suppose! And hey, the men at these things aint half bad lookin I must say...

Isn't the sunset on the stadium absolutely beautiful?!

Friday my parents were in town! They actually arrived late Thursday night (it took them SIX HOURS to get from Tampa to Tallahassee- that's insanity!) but I didn't see them until Friday. Friday really consisted of a super hectic day at work followed by helping my brother get settled into his first apartment. He's a sophomore at FSU, so it's really awesome that we live so close.

Saturday was even more moving in for the baby brother. I also had my parents take a look at my new office (I just moved offices to have a beautiful view and really, I was looking for some rejuvenation and a fresh start). My mom and I shopped for the finishing touches at both and ended the night with my parents unable to detach themselves from the puppy. She is so cute, she'll lure you right in...
The new view- love the tree tops, natural sunlight, and openness my new office has!

Sunday consisted of LOTS of grocery shopping! Who would have ever thought that would have come a day in my life that I would have been excited to go grocery shopping. However, there were practically cobwebs in my fridge and cabinets so it definitely was time to go.
My amazing parents also ordered my diploma frame (it's gorgeous- has a professional photo of Westcott Fountain and the medallion on it) so I really can't wait for it to arrive so I can hang it in my new office.
After goodbyes with the parents, I headed to take Mayley to her first dog park experience. I must say, she really loved it. I met up with a friend and his handsome lab, and by the time I got Mayley home she was exhausted.
Exhausted with her new duck toy!

Today has been just great! I love getting lots of sleep, and even though I'm not a morning person typically, it was nice to wake up extra early. I took Mayley to the groomers this morning.. which turned into an accidental trip almost to Havana, FL (Always look at a map for where you are going before you make an appointment.. "North Monroe Street" goes a loooooooooong way away)... which of course led Mayley to vomit in the car on the way there (fabulous). I really can't even be mad because she's just always so nervous and the morning traffic certainly did not help! Once we finally arrived (Google maps failed me yet again and was leading me further away, good thing I happened to see the sign!) she was totally fine! I lingered like a mom saying goodbye to their child on the first day of pre-school, but the groomer even called me when she was done to tell me how great she did! I couldn't be happier for my little girl, lets just hope she doesn't look like a poodle when I pick her up.

Anyway, time to get busy! Make this Monday great!

Love,
K
